Dave has always had a thing for shoebox Fords, Hudson Hornets, 1960's Pontiacs and especially Lincolns. Feeling Cadillacs had way more musical representation in the stratosphere, Dave decided to throw his hat into he Lincoln composition ring next to the legendary song "Hot Rod Lincoln" written by Charlie Ryan in 1955 and made famous by excellent versions by both Johnny Bond and Commander Cody & The Lost Air Planetmen. The thought being it's better to write a Lincoln song rather than doing yet another cover version. Here's our original take on the Lincoln theme.

Lyrics

Top of the hill Lincoln '59 here she comes!

Well I've always wanted me a Lincoln '59
Big, black, shiny chrome, fins pointing to the sky
You grab a six, I'll grab the bowl
C'mon little honey now here we go
Oh Lincoln '59 let that baby unwind
Oh Lincoln '59 let that baby un-wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind!

Someday I'm gonna get me a Lincoln '59
I'll take her out on the highway and let that baby unwind
I'll be a rocket ship runnin' through space
I ain't goin' nowhere 'cos I'm in my place
Behind the wheel of that Lincoln '59
Oh behind the wheel of that Lincoln fifty-Niiiiiiiiiine

Unwind boys!

There's never any reason to ask me why
Just jump in the back seat give it a try
Take a little ride in my Lincoln 59
Shift my gears and wax my hood
inflate my tires and polish my chrome
Well let's get greased up and put in some overtime
In my Lincoln '59....

I'm gonna pull up to the bar in my Lincoln '59
I'm gonna belly on up and buy a round for all the bar flies
And then I'll keep on a-buyin' 'em all night long
And leave about 5 out into the storm
And power up my Lincoln '59
And power up my Lincoln fifty-niiiiiiiiiiiiiine

POWER UP!

They're gonna bury me in my Lincoln '59
Six feet down, fins pointin' to the sky
My face all busted with broken glass
Steering column poking through to my ass
Out in flash in my Lincoln '59
Yeah out in a flash in my Lincoln '59

You're gonna see me in heaven in my Lincoln '59
Out on the heavenly mile where dead dragsters spend their time
Turn the radio on, put the hammer down
Screamin' off the line baby glory bound
Oh Lincoln '59 let that baby unwind
Oh Lincoln '59 let that baby unwind
Oh Lincoln '59 let that baby unwiiiiiiiiiiiiiind

There she goes...over the hill.
